Black Spiritual Ritual Candle

For protection, banishing, reversal, and spiritual shielding

Before you begin: The black candle works by absorbing and neutralizing, it does not send harm, it removes it. Enter this ritual with a calm, firm spirit, not in anger. Your authority and peace are your greatest weapons.

• What you will need
• Black spiritual candle
• Castor or olive oil
• Black pepper & sea salt
• Frankincense or myrrh incense
• A small mirror (optional)
• A black or white cloth
• A piece of paper and pen
• A fireproof holder
• A glass of water
• Florida water (optional)

Phase 1 - Fortify your space

• Clean your space thoroughly. Then sprinkle a light line of sea salt across every doorway and windowsill in the room. Salt creates a boundary that negative and harmful energies cannot easily cross.
• If you have Florida water, sprinkle a few drops around the perimeter of your ritual space, moving counter clockwise. This clears the spiritual atmosphere and prepares it for heavy protective work.
• Light your frankincense or myrrh incense. These resins are ancient protectors, carry the smoke around yourself first, then the space, to cleanse your own aura before the ritual begins.

Phase 2 - Charge the candle

• Hold the black candle in both hands and close your eyes. Breathe slowly and deeply. Visualize every source of negativity, every harmful influence, every curse or bad luck, see it as a dark cloud. Now see the candle drawing all of that cloud into itself, pulling it away from you.
• Dress the candle with castor or olive oil, rubbing from the wick downward to the base, this direction pushes things away and banishes. As you rub, say firmly: "I charge this candle to absorb, neutralize, and destroy every negative force sent against me."
• Roll the oiled candle lightly in a mixture of ground black pepper and sea salt. Black pepper repels and breaks hexes; salt purifies and seals. Press them gently into the surface so they hold.

Phase 3 - Name what you are banishing

• On the piece of paper, write clearly and specifically what you are banishing. This may be a person's name, a generational pattern, bad luck in business, a spiritual attack, fear, or a named curse. Be honest and direct, spirits respond to clarity, not vagueness.
• If using a mirror, place it face up beneath the candle holder. The mirror reflects all harmful energy sent your way directly back to its source, amplifying the reversal power of the ritual.
• Place the folded paper beneath the candle holder. Fold it away from you, each fold pushes the named thing further out of your life.

Phase 4 - Light and command

• Light the candle. Stand or sit tall. This is not a moment for timid asking, speak with authority. Say aloud three times: "Every curse, hex, evil eye, and negative force attached to me, my family, and my business, I break your power now. You are absorbed, neutralized, and destroyed by this flame. What was sent against me returns to its source, harming no one further. I am protected. I am free."
• For generational curses, add: "Every pattern of [poverty / sickness / broken relationships / bad luck, name it specifically] that has followed my bloodline ends with me. I cut the cord. My children and their children are free."
• Sit with the candle for 15–30 minutes. Breathe steadily. Visualize a thick, impenetrable shield of black and white light surrounding you, your home, and your loved ones, nothing harmful can enter, and what is already there is being pulled out and consumed by the flame.

Phase 5 - Seal and dispose

• Snuff the candle. Never blow it out, blowing disperses the absorbed negativity back into the air. You may repeat this for 3, 7, or 9 consecutive nights for deep or long standing spiritual attacks. For an urgent or severe situation, burn the candle all the way down in one session if it is safe to do so.
• When the ritual is complete, take the paper with the named negativity and burn it completely outside your home, or bury it far from your property. Say as it burns or as you bury it: "It is done. It is finished. It cannot return."
• After the final night, dispose of all candle remnants, wax, ash, used salt, away from your home. A crossroads, a body of running water, or a trash bin far from your property are all traditional disposal points. Do not keep the remnants inside. Pour the glass of water outside as well.
• Immediately after disposal, light a white candle at home for at least one hour to fill the space with clean, protective, healing energy. The black candle removes, the white candle restores. The two work as a pair.

Best timing: Perform on a Saturday (Saturn's day, rules banishment, endings, and binding) or during a waning or dark moon, when energies of release and removal are at their peak. Midnight or just before sunrise are the most powerful hours for this work. For business protection, also perform on a Tuesday (Mars's day, rules defense and courage).

A few important things to know about working with the black candle:

Always follow with white. The black candle is a remover, it creates a void by pulling out negativity. If you don't fill that void with positive energy (using a white candle, prayer, or any cleansing practice), the space can feel heavy afterward. Always close this ritual with light.

Reading the flame: A strong, steady black flame or deep blue tint means serious spiritual interference was present and is being dealt with. Heavy soot on the glass or holder confirms blocked or heavy energy. A flame that keeps going out may mean the negativity has deep roots, cleanse your space again and repeat. A clean burn with little soot means the attack was light or the work is complete.

For business protection specifically: Write the name or address of your business on the paper alongside any competitors you suspect of ill intent or spiritual sabotage. You may also place a photo of the business or its entrance beneath the candle.

Generational curses often require the full 9 night working, not just 3. These are patterns deeply rooted in the bloodline and take sustained, intentional effort to break. Be patient and consistent.

What the black candle does not do: It does not harm others, it neutralizes and returns. If a curse or hex is sent your way, this ritual returns it to its sender without escalation. You are not attacking; you are defending and releasing.
