Phase 1 - Awaken desire and depth

• The magenta candle lives at the meeting point of the heart and the body, it asks you to honour both. Begin this ritual by anointing yourself: apply a few drops of jasmine or patchouli oil to your wrists, the back of your neck, and your chest over your heart. These are not just beautiful scents, jasmine awakens desire and spiritual openness simultaneously, while patchouli grounds sensual energy and makes it magnetic. You are dressing yourself for the ritual as much as the candle.
• Prepare your space with deliberate beauty, this matters more for the magenta candle than most. Dim the lights. Place your roses where they can be seen. If you have a cloth for the altar, use something rich, deep red, burgundy, or purple. The magenta candle responds to environments that feel intentionally luxurious and sensually alive.
• Light your jasmine or oud incense. Oud, agarwood is one of the oldest and most sacred scents used in spiritual and love rituals across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. It opens the heart at depth, draws devotion, and creates an atmosphere of sacred intimacy. Let it fill the room fully before you continue.
• If using red wine or pomegranate juice as an offering, pour a small amount into a cup and set it to the right of your candle. The pomegranate is an ancient symbol of deep love, devotion, and the willingness to be fully consumed by what you love. Wine represents the blood of the heart's deepest commitments. You will drink from it at the close of the ritual as a seal.

Phase 2 - The mirror working

• Place the small mirror face up in the centre of your altar space. This is the magenta candle's most distinctive element, the mirror is not for reflecting the flame outward (as in the black candle's reversal work), but for facing yourself. Sit before it. Look at yourself, fully, without judgment. This is where the ritual truly begins.
• For the confidence and attraction working, this step is the centrepiece of the entire ritual. Look into your own eyes in the mirror and say slowly: "I am desirable. I am magnetic. I am fully at home in this body and this life. Whoever is meant for me recognises me because I recognise myself." Say it until your eyes stop looking away. The magenta candle cannot make others find you attractive until you genuinely find yourself worth being drawn to.
• Place the candle holder on top of the mirror. Now the flame will reflect below it, doubling its light and its intention. The mirror beneath the magenta candle is a symbol of the truth at the heart of this work: love between two people only reaches its full depth when each person first knows their own.
• Dress the candle with jasmine or patchouli oil from base to wick. Press your rose quartz or garnet stone against the dressed candle for a full minute before setting it in the holder, charging the stone with the candle's intention so it can carry the working on your body between sessions. Carve a deep heart, two intertwined initials, or the word "devote" into the candle with a pin.

Phase 3 - Write your petition

• On your deep red or magenta paper, write your petition with full emotional presence. The magenta candle asks for honesty about desire, not polished spiritual language, but the real, unguarded truth of what your heart and body want. Write without editing yourself. What do you truly long for in love? Write that.

Confidence & attraction: "I move through the world as someone who knows their own power and beauty. I attract with ease what aligns with my heart's deepest desires. My confidence is magnetic. My presence is felt. I am irresistible to what is right for me."
Spiritual romantic union: "I call in the love that is also a spiritual home, a connection that sets my soul alight and brings me into greater wholeness. We recognise each other deeply. We are devoted not just in body but in spirit."

• After writing, anoint each corner of the paper with a tiny drop of jasmine or patchouli oil. Draw two interlocking circles around the petition, the ancient symbol of union, of two becoming one while each remaining whole. Fold the paper toward you twice. Place it beneath the candle holder on the mirror.

Phase 4 - Light and invoke with depth

• Light the candle. Watch the double flame, the real flame above and its reflection in the mirror below. This image carries the meaning of the entire ritual: two flames, one light. Two people, one bond. The visible and the spiritual meeting in the same moment.
• Place your charged stone over your heart. Close your eyes. Breathe deeply seven times, with each exhale, consciously release any fear of intimacy, any wall around your heart, any belief that deep love is not available to you. Name each one quietly as it goes: "I release fear of being truly seen. I release the belief that I am too much or not enough. I release past heartbreak that told me this was not possible for me."
• Open your eyes and speak your declaration three times with full feeling, not loudly, but deeply. Let the words come from the chest, not the throat:

• Sit with the candle for 20-30 minutes. This is the longest sitting of any candle in this series, the magenta candle works at depth, and depth takes time. During this time, allow yourself to feel fully what it would be like to live inside the love you have called in. Do not just visualise it from outside, step into it. Feel it as already real, already yours, already home.
• If you experience a rush of emotion, longing, or even grief for love not yet arrived, stay with it. The magenta candle works through what is real, not around it. The longing itself is the prayer. The grief itself is the proof of how genuinely you desire this. Let it move through you and out through the flame.

Phase 5 - The seal and the offering

• Before closing, take the cup of red wine or pomegranate juice. Hold it between both hands and say: "I offer this in honour of love, the love I have known, the love I carry now, and the love that is coming. I receive it fully. I am worthy of it completely." Then drink slowly, deliberately, as an act of internalising everything you have called in during this ritual.
• Pour a small amount of what remains from the cup onto the earth outside, or into a plant, this is your offering back to the source of love itself. Giving something back at the close of a magenta candle ritual is spiritually significant: devotion is not only what you receive, but what you are willing to give.
• Snuff the candle. Say: "The flame rests. The devotion does not. What I have called is already written. What is written is already real." Sit in silence for three full minutes before rising, longer than any other candle in this series. The magenta candle closes slowly, like a deep conversation that deserves a real ending.
• Repeat for 7 consecutive nights. Wear or carry your charged rose quartz or garnet stone every day during the ritual cycle. On the final night, allow the candle to burn completely down, signalling that the work is fully surrendered and released into the universe's hands.
• Keep the petition paper folded inside a small pouch with a rose petal and your stone until your intention is fully manifest. After it arrives, bury the pouch in the earth with a single sentence of genuine, heartfelt gratitude. The earth holds what love has fulfilled.

Best timing: Perform on a Friday (Venus's day, the undisputed ruler of deep love, desire, devotion, and beauty) or Tuesday (Mars's day, adds the fire of passion and physical magnetism). The full moon is the most powerful timing for the magenta candle, it illuminates what is hidden in the heart and draws devotion out of both people simultaneously. Perform after dark, in candlelight only, when the senses are heightened and the heart is most open to depth.

Some deeper wisdom for working with the magenta candle:

Magenta is the most complete love candle. Pink calls tenderness. Red calls fire. Magenta carries both and adds something neither has alone: devotion. The kind of love this candle works with is not just attraction or even deep feeling, but the conscious, chosen, sustained commitment to another person or to oneself as a beloved. This is why it requires more time, more depth, and more honesty than any other candle in this series.

The mirror working is non negotiable. Other candles in this series can work without every element being present. The magenta candle's mirror step is not optional. The central spiritual principle of this candle is that you cannot call in depth of love from another that exceeds the depth of love you have for yourself. The mirror is where the real ritual happens. Everything else supports it.

Reading the flame: A deep, rich flame with a warm magenta or purple tint at the base is the most powerful sign, spiritual and romantic energy are both fully active. A flame that burns in two distinct points (splitting slightly at the top) is considered a direct sign of two souls moving toward each other. A flame that reaches unusually high during the spiritual union working means the connection you are calling in has a genuine spiritual dimension, not just a romantic one.
